Review
Look up Chemdawg (sometimes spelled Chemdog) and you’ll find that its origins are fiercely disputed. Murky stories about chance meetings at Grateful Dead and the states of Montana, Massachusetts and Colorado all figure in the tales.
A more straightforward explanation of its genetics is that it’s a cross between two well-respected strains, OG Kush and Sour Diesel. Whatever the truth, this Sativa and Indica hybrid, with the Sativa characteristics to the fore, is a connoisseur standard smoke that experienced growers should consider.
The Chemdawg strain has a pungent, earthy aroma and the flavor displays notes of fruit and spice with a slightly sour undertone detectable. The high is quick-acting and leaves you very stoned but still functioning. The hit can last for up to two hours. Medical practitioners recommend this weed for muscular pain and poor appetite.
Chemdawg seeds produce tall, branching plants with long, narrow leaves and medium-sized buds covered in sticky crystals. THC has been measured as high as 20.5 percent.
Indoors, you can grow this strain using the SCROG method or low stress training. The plants can be prone to mould and mildew, so growers need to pay particular attention to both ventilation and humidity levels. The plants also need attentive training and trimming. Flowering time is nine weeks and carefully grown crops can yield as much as 800 grams per square metre.
Successful outdoor growing requires warm dry summers like those of the Mediterranean region. Outdoor yields are around the 800 grams per plant level.
Chemdawg is not a strain for the novice grower. If you have some gardening experience under your belt, this strain can produce high yields of quality weed.

I can’t wait to get started on my grow im using 2 1000 watt hps over a 4×8 flood table areoponics im trying to calculate how many clones i can put in a small space im planning on trying the single cola method.
I’m actually trying to do the same thing right now with chemdawg as the mother and Mango Haze as a female father(some know what that means). Only have 6 seeds left. One of them has got to lean on the Chem D side with the smell of mangoes (hopefully). I’ve searched hard and do not find this combination. If I get that great phenomenon it will be my strain. My mother. Chemical Haze, Mango Dog, Haze Dog, Chemical Mango? What do you think? Fingers crossed on that pheno.
Yes as Jonathan said, Chem d is a parent of countless strains in one way or the other. That includes the diesels and OG in some way. The creator’s screen name in a marijuana forum (old one) was, chemical dog. CD , bought a bag at a Grateful Dead show that had some seeds. He grew out the seeds labeled by number. The best pheno was named chemical dog. The better of the rest, were named by the number seed to start. My favorite is Chem #4 a sweeter pheno. The parents of Chemical dog are Unknown.

Chemdawg is the parent of OG Kush and Sour Diesel, not the offspring. Chemdawg crossed with a Skunk phenotype from Massachusetts is Sour Diesel and Chemdawg crossed with Kush is OG Kush. I think the Kush cut was from Cailifornia. And the grower Chemdawg was from Massachusetts but the $500 dollar ounce that he bought at the Dead show was not. He found seeds in the ounce and those plants are the strain Chemdawg.

Mine are big bushy plants 10 gallon pot plant themselves a little over 3 ft indoor with 1000w hps have about 20 tops each all getting very big topped for about 1st 3-4 weeks from rooted clone and about 3 weeks no topping before flowering usually 6-7 weeks veg time for me.
to much topping stunt the growths of the CHEMDAWG ?
