Tangerine Kush

The Tangerine Kush strain is Indica dominant with two well-known parents, OG Kush and Bubba Kush. It’s popular in both the coffee shops of Amsterdam and on the medical marijuana scene in the USA. It gets its name from the short, orange hairs that cover the buds.

It has a pungent skunky smell but when you smoke it you’ll taste an attractive sweetness with fruity undertones. The hit is pure Indica – heavy and relaxing with pronounced physical effects. This is a smoke best saved for the evening – it’s likely to leave you lying on the couch in front of a movie. Medical practitioners recommend this weed for insomnia, poor appetite and muscular pain.

Tangerine Kush seeds produce medium-sized plants with an abundance of fluffy buds covered in orange hairs and sticky resin. The broad leaves are mid-green to start with but become increasingly dark as the plants mature. THC content has been measured at between 14 and 18 percent.

Indoors, it will grow happily in soil or hydro. Soil tends to bring out the sweet flavour while hydro produces the highest yields. Flowering time is eight to nine weeks and if you take good care of your crop you can expect to harvest up to 500 grams per square metre.

Outdoor growing is possible in cooler climates as long as you’re careful to plant out seedlings after the risk of frost has passed. Harvest in the northern hemisphere comes in late September or early October.

Tangerine Kush seeds are quite easy to grow so are a good choice for beginners. Experienced growers will appreciate the quality harvest that this strain dependably produces.
