Auto Bubblegum – OO Seeds
Indica-dominant Auto Bubblegum by OO Seeds was created by crossing an outstanding specimen of the original Bubblegum, with an unknown Ruderalis. Bred to lock in all the great taste of the classic Bubblegum, while making it even easier to grow.
With only 12% THC, Bubblegum is at the more modern end of what you would expect from a contemporary strain,. But 12% THC is still enough to deliver a reasonable amount of pain relief. Plus a noticeable lift to your mood, without drawing you into an actual high. By contrast, Auto Bubblegum does have a fair bit of CBD, which means its better suited to use at night than to day-time use. In particular, it’s a very tasty cure for insomnia.
Like its photoperiod counterpart, Auto Bubblegum is equally happy indoors and outdoors and will need about 60 days to go from seed to bud. As this version of Bubblegum is an autoflowering strain, there is no designated harvest period. However, outdoor growers are still going to have to think about the weather. In other words, you really want to complete your outdoor grow over the summer period rather than in the depths of winter.
Bubblegum is fairly robust in the sense of being resilient to mould, diseases and pests. But like most marijuana strains, it prefers life in the warm and dry, particularly the dry,. So if you live in a climate with a lot of rain, then position your plants somewhere they’ll be nicely sheltered, or put them in a greenhouse. Ideally, you’ll also want to position them away from the prevailing winds. This will avoid the risk of damage and partly for good odour control.
Indoor growers will be pleased to hear that Auto Bubblegum tends to stay fairly compact of its own accord. Its growing range is from about 80 cm indoor minimum to 1.3 m outdoor maximum. It responds well to plant training which encourages it to grow outwards, rather than upwards and hence keep their height down. When harvest time rolls round, indoor growers can expect about 300g/m2 to 350g/m2 . Outdoor growers can expect up to 40g per seed. A respectable yield from a strain which is compact, fast and simple.
Although the name suggests that the flavour and aroma are full of candy sweetness, in reality, this is balanced with the sweetness of berries, particularly strawberry. This makes the taste a bit more like a chewy, fruit candy rather than pure bubble gum.
