cbd queen marijuana strainWith a name like CBD Queen, you’d expect some regal genetics and you’d be right.  You might, however, be surprised to learn that one of its famous parents is a Haze Sativa. The other two are Indicas are  in the form of the legendary Northern Lights and the widely-respected medical strain Juanita La Lagrimosa.  CBD Queen is now firmly established as one of the best medical strains around.

There’s actually 5% THC in CBD Queen,. This is great news for people who would like to begin their treatment with some fast-acting pain relief, while they wait for the CBD to take effect.  This sort of THC level is nowhere near enough to get you properly high. It is enough to give your mood a bit of a lift out of a moderately dark place and into a happier one.  As the name suggests, the main reason people buy this strain is for its CBD content. All 10% of it.  This is enough to bring on a very deep stone, bringing complete and utter blissful relaxation to both mind and body.  Obviously, this means that CBD Queen is generally best kept for use at night. If you do need to medicate in the daytime, then be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to recover before doing anything complicated.

Indoors, CBD Queen has an indoor flowering time of about 8 to 10 weeks. Outdoors you will be harvesting around about the start of October.  Indoors you can expect to collect up to 500g/m2. Outdoors up to about 400g per plant or perhaps a bit more.

While CBD Queen will grow equally happily indoors or outdoors, it does prefer life in the warm and dry.  This means that outdoor growers to the north of the Mediterranean are going to have to make sure that they give their plants a sufficient degree of protection against both wind and rain.  Alternatively, you could try greenhouse growing as a good compromise. Remember that the Sativa genetics make this strain a bit taller than you might expect from the name. You’re looking at a growing range of about 1M (indoor minimum) to 1.8M (outdoor maximum).  You also want to think about giving your plants space to stretch outwards as well as upwards. Particularly if you want to use techniques such as sea-of-green and/or low stress training. The latter of which can really help to improve yields by letting the available light get right into the plants.  CBD Queen  is very responsive to plant training and has good resilience to mould, diseases and pests.  It does tend to give off a fairly powerful odour towards the latter stages of flowering. So indoor growers would be well advised to invest in air filters and outdoor growers will want to think about prevailing winds.

The Northern Lights heritage gives CBD Queen a distinctly skunky flavour, which is balanced by Haze spiciness and a dash of citrus.  This is reflected in the aroma.  The smoke itself is very gentle on the throat.
