These days, Juanita La Lagrimosa is possibly best known as a strain which has been used to create many other excellent medical marijuana strains, however it’s worth remembering that the reason why Juanita La Lagrimosa is used so often as a parent strain is because it has such excellent medical qualities itself.

Juanita la lagrimosa marijuana strainAlthough this strain is 75% Sativa dominant, it is low in THC (around 7%) and high in CBD (around 8%).  There is typically a (nearly) 1:1 ratio of THC and CBD.  While the minimal THC content is nowhere near enough to trigger a conventional high, it can give a bit of an energizing boost to a low mood and/or give you the benefit of some fast-acting pain relief.  The main attraction of Juanita La Lagrimosa is, however, the CBD content and this strain is an excellent treatment for any serious and/or chronic illness which responds to CBD, including epilepsy and arthritis.  As with all high-CBD strains, Juanita La Lagrimosa is ideally best kept for use at night, however, in the real world this may not be possible.  If you do find yourself needing to medicate during the day, then you will need to allow for an extended period of couch lock and make sure that you are thoroughly refocused before you do anything complicated.

Even though this strain is Sativa dominant, it’s not actually all that tall.  Indoors you can expect it to reach around 1M to 1.2M and outdoors you’re looking at 1.5M to 2M.  It has an indoor flowering time of about 9 weeks and an outdoor harvest time of early to mid October.  This last point, coupled with the fact that, like most varieties of marijuana, Juanita La Lagrimosa definitely prefers to be in a warm, dry and sunny climate, means that the further north of the Mediterranean basin you live, the more you should lean towards greenhouse or indoor growing.

While Juanita La Lagrimosa is about as easy to grow as a photoperiod strain can be, experience is definitely a benefit when it comes to producing the biggest yields.  Novice growers can expect up to about 400g/m2 indoors and 500g per plant outdoors, whereas more experienced growers could push this up to 600g/m2 indoors and 1Kg per plant outdoors (although this would assume you had the space to allow your plants to grow as high as they wanted).

In terms of taste and aroma, the key flavour is lemon balanced with spices, both Haze and Kush, although when it comes to the scent the former are usually prevalent to the point where the aroma of Juanita La Lagrimosa could easily be mistaken for Lemon Haze.
