Lemon Thai 

Lemon Thai has the sort of taste you’d expect from a connoisseur’s strain, but is actually very robust and undemanding with generous yields. 

Although this strain is actually 60% Sativa, Lemon Thai has a relatively modest 16% to 22% THC along with about 0.1% CBD.  This means that it is a “middle-of-the-road” strain in all the right ways.  It has enough THC to provide fast and effective pain relief, and to produce a high which blows the blues away. It has enough CBD to be soothing rather than stupefying.  In short, Lemon Thai is unlikely to have the strength needed to treat the most serious conditions. But it can do a great job on a wide variety of moderate conditions. It is particularly good choice for people who just want to grow one strain and use it whenever they need it.

Indoors, Lemon Thai will need 8 to 9 weeks of flowering time. Outdoors it will be ready around mid-October.  While it has solid resilience in the face of mould, diseases and pests, Lemon Thai is not nearly so stoical when it comes to the cold and wet. Growers north of the Mediterranean basin should probably treat Lemon Thai as an “indoor-only” strain. The good news is that Lemon Thai stays on the shorter side (for a Sativa dominant).  Indoors you can expect it to reach about 1.6M or so. Outdoors it can grow over 2M especially if growing conditions are particularly good. Yields are very respectable, with indoor growers looking at around 450g/m2. Outdoor growers could harvest as much as 900g per plant. 

We’ve classed Lemon Thai as being moderately difficult to grow. Most people are probably going to need to grow indoors and Lemon Thai doesn’t really have a great tolerance for beginner mistakes. But if you’re growing outdoors or you know your way around managing light cycles you should be fine with it. 

As the name suggests, the main flavour in Lemon Thai is, of course, citrus lemon, but there’s also a “sweet-and-sour” base which is definitely spicy but also herbal, with clear touches of mint.  The aroma is also predominantly lemon and while it does have a fresh citrus tang, it doesn’t really evidence much of the herbs and spices in the taste.
