Shiva Skunk

Another Netherlands creation, Indica dominant Shiva Skunk is a cross between two of the best known skunk type weeds, Northern Lights #5 and Skunk #1. Shiva, of course, is the supreme Hindu God, the destroyer of evil.

The weed has a deep, earthy smell and this is also apparent in the flavor which also exhibits notes of sweet spice, pine and citrus. The hit comes on quickly with a pronounced body buzz. This is followed by a strongly psychedelic high that can tend towards the contemplative or the giggly. Medically, this weed is recommended for alleviating sleeplessness and loss of appetite.

Shiva Skunk seeds produce plants of medium height and fairly thin foliage, with leaves tending to be quite short and dark green. The plants’ branches have a large number of buds which are densely packed and sticky with resin. THC levels will vary according to growing conditions but will be in the 15 to 20 percent range.

Indoors, you’ll get good yields by growing Shiva Skunk seeds using the SOG method and you should be able to harvest around 450 grams per square metre. Flowering time is from seven to eight weeks. The plants need little trimming because of their sparse leaf growth. Hydroponics tend to produce better results than a soil growing medium with this strain.

Shiva Skunk does not grow so well outdoors in cooler northern countries but it will thrive in regions with a Mediterranean climate. In the Northern Hemisphere, outdoor plants are ready for harvest by the end of October.

So to conclude this Shiva Skunk review, with its venerable old school skunk heritage, this weed is a great choice if you’re looking for an easy-to-grow strain that delivers a heavy hit. Shiva Skunk’s growing qualities also make it popular with commercial cultivators.
