Gorilla Glue – MSNL
Gorilla Glue’s heritage reads like a who’s who of classic strains, it all started with a hermaphrodite Sour Dubb and went on to involve crossing and backcrossing with Sour Diesel, Chem’s Sister and Chocolate Diesel.
With 25% THC Gorilla Glue, provides, fast-acting, heavy-duty pain relief for serious pain and mental issues, it’s not really thought of as a recreational strain, but if you do decide to try using it that way then treat it with the respect it deserves and start with very small quantities. People new to marijuana should probably give Gorilla Glue a miss unless they have very clear medical advice that they need this sort of level of THC. By contrast, this strain is very low in CBD, so it causes minimal drowsiness, making it a great “wake and bake” strain for daytime use.
Rather appropriately, the flavour of Gorilla Glue is quite upbeat and energizing. The base notes are more earth than diesel, while the body is a mixture of coffee and chocolate and it’s all topped off with a touch of citrus and spice. As you might expect from this description, the aroma is simply gorgeous.
One of the big plus points about Gorilla Glue, as compared to other Sativas, even modern ones, is that it’s fairly quick to grow. Indoors it only needs 7 to 9 weeks of flowering time and outdoors it will be ready around the end of September. It also stays at a fairly reasonable height, relatively speaking. You’re looking at an indoor minimum of about 1.8M and an outdoor maximum of about 2.2M. Yields are really good. Indoor growers can reasonably expect 600g/m2 or even more and outdoor growers can look at 700g per plant, or more.
The other piece of good news for growers is that Gorilla Glue is stable, reliable and pest resistant making for a reasonably easy grow. In fact, it wouldn’t be out of the question for beginners to grow it, although it wouldn’t necessarily be our first suggestion for them. The first reason for this is that Gorilla Glue has a big appetite, you don’t get to its height and produce these sorts of yields without a lot of food and water. The second reason is that the whole point of growing marijuana is to harvest it and this strain gets its name from its ability to glue up scissors in record time. The way to deal with this is to have several pairs of scissors so you can keep changing them as you go and then clean them, so it’s not an insurmountable obstacle, but you do need to be prepared for it.
