Cookies and Cream
Balanced hybrid Cookies and Cream is as delicious as its name promises. As you might have guessed, the “Cookies” part references one half of the parentage, namely Girl Scout Cookies. The “Cream” part, however, references the taste, not the genetics, the other parent is Starfighter, which is a cross between Alien Tahoe OG and Lemon Alien Dawg.
Although a THC range of 20% to 26% might look alarming to some people, these headline figures have to be set in the context of this strain’s genetics, namely the fact that Cookies and Cream is about 50% Indica. This means that while the pain relief is everything you would expect and while this strain is perfectly capable of treating more serious mental and/or emotional issues, the high is actually rather milder than you might assume from the statistics alone. This means that Cookies and Cream might be the perfect choice for anyone who needs the pain relief but doesn’t want a massive, head-rushing high. The minimal level of CBD obviously suggests daytime use, but be careful here because high doses of this strain can make you feel sleepy.
Cookies and Cream can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, it will be ready after eight to nine weeks of flowering during which time it will reach a height of about 1.2M to 1.5M. You can expect to collect up to 450g/m2. Outdoors it will be ready towards the end of September or start of October, reach a height of up to 2M and deliver a harvest of up to 450g per plant.
We’ve classed Cookies and Cream as being moderately difficult to grow partly because it is a photoperiod strain and partly because it’s on the larger side for a modern strain (although it’s nowhere remotely close to being one of the biggest strains around). Larger plants do tend to need a bit more in the way of advance planning (for example, making sure each plant has space to grow without compromising ventilation) and also in the way of everyday care (watering, feeding etc). On the plus side Cookies and Cream is very amenable to plant training, which gives you options both for reducing its height and maximizing its yield.
In terms of taste and aroma, Cookies and Cream has an earthy, slightly nutty baseline, topped with candy sweetness and a liberal helping of vanilla. The smoke itself is very smooth.
