Gorilla Zkittlez – Barneys Farm

Named after both its parents, Gorilla Zkittlez is a cross between the ever-popular Gorilla Glue and an exciting new strain, Zkittlez.  It’s a lot of fun, but it also has significant medical benefits.

Even though Gorilla Zkittlez is 60% Indica dominant, it has an average of 24% THC and is fairly light on CBD.  It can deliver powerful relief from pain and negative emotional states in no time. The high is possibly not quite what you would expect from the headline THC figures.  The Indica genetics help to keep it mellow and serene balancing the energetic euphoria, which comes from the Sativa side.  The head high is followed by a light body buzz, which is definitely soothing and comforting. But it is more in the line of a “power nap” than a deep stone.  In other words, this is very definitely a daytime strain.

Gorilla Zkittlez has an indoor flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks and an outdoor harvest period of early October.  Although this strain has solid genetics, it distinctly prefers warm, dry, sunny conditions. Which means that outdoor growers towards the north of Europe will have to make sure that their plants are well protected from the elements. Other regions will want to grow this strain indoors.

The good news in this regard is that even though Gorilla Zkittles has 40% Sativa genetics, it’s still fairly compact with a height range of between about 1.4M (indoor minimum) to 1.7M (outdoor maximum).  This strain offers really impressive yields for its size.  Indoor growers could collect up to 700g/m2 and outdoor growers could collect up to 2.5Kg per plant.

We’ve classed Gorilla Zkittlez as moderately difficult to grow because it’s a photoperiod strain, other than that this strain is really easy to manage.

In terms of flavour and aroma, your initial thoughts may well be that Gorilla Zkittlez tastes much the same as the original Zkittlez.  At first, all you’ll probably detect is lots and lots of fruit, especially citrus, berries (particularly grapes) and tropical fruit.  Once you’ve had time to process this, you’ll pick up on earthiness and a dash of herbs, both of which come from the Gorilla Glue side.
