Power Kush

Power Kush is a highly popular strain in Amsterdam, the unofficial world capital of cannabis smoking, so that tells you quite a lot about its pedigree and quality. This Indica-dominant weed is a hybrid of an Afghani Indica strain and the legendary Skunk #1, which many modern skunk-type strains are at least partly based on.

As this plant grows, you’ll smell a typically musky skunk aroma with undertones of pine and citrus. When smoked the flavor has notes of fruit, berries and lemon. This weed’s hit combines pleasurable mental stimulation with a relaxing body hit and medical pharmacies recommend it for pain relief, stress and insomnia.

Indoors, this plant grows to a medium height with large palmate leaves sporting elongated fingers. The compact buds are sticky with resin and covered in hairs ranging from cream to orange in color. Power Kush’s THC content can be as high as 16 percent.

Grown indoors, the Power Kush strain is happy in a soil or hydro medium and it does especially well with a SOG setup. Flowering time is seven to eight weeks and this plant produces yields in the medium range.

Outdoors, the plant can grow quite tall, as high as two meters, and it can have a tendency to get a bit straggly, so some judicious pruning may be called for as well as some support as the plant matures.

Power Kush is a strain favored by commercial growers as well as amateur gardeners and its fruity flavor makes it a favorite with cannabis connoisseurs.
