Haze

Haze weed is a Sativa with genetics from Columbia, Mexico, Thailand and Jamaica. It forms the basis for a variety of strains such as Liberty Haze, Super Lemon Haze and Arjan’s Ultra Haze. Those three examples, along with many others, all have one thing in common – they’ve taken awards at the prestigious High Times Cannabis Cup.

This is not a smoke for the inexperienced. Its powerful hit has definite psychedelic elements, almost akin to a LSD high. If you can handle it, you’ll experience a soaring euphoria coupled with visual effects. Medically, Haze cannabis can help with muscular pain and poor appetite.

Haze seeds produce tall plants with a somewhat untidy aspect. The side branches stick out at different angles and have long bright green leaves. The buds have the consistency of cotton wool and a heavy coating of glittering trichomes. THC content ranges between 15 to 20 percent.

Indoors, the plant does well using the SCROG method with yields of 300 too 400 grams per square metre. It’s not the easiest strain to grow, and patience is required since flowering times tend to be as long as 12 weeks.

Outdoors, the plant will grow to 3 metres or more, especially if grown in a warm, Mediterranean type climate. Harvest in the Northern Hemisphere comes quite late, at the end of October or the beginning of November.

Because of its potency and its long flowering time, Haze weed is not the best choice for novices. If you’re a seasoned smoker and an experienced cultivator, the rewards of growing Haze make it well worth the effort.
