Royal Gorilla Auto – Royal Queen Seeds

Royal Gorilla Auto has some really royal parentage in the form of Royal Gorilla and Royal Cookies, (plus Ruderalis). Royal Gorilla is essentially Royal Queen Seeds’ take on Gorilla Glue and Royal Cookies is their take on Girl Scout Cookies, specifically the Forum Cookies phenotype.

The fact that Royal Gorilla Auto has a whole 20% THC is a good example of how far autoflowering strains have come in recent years. What’s more, this strain is actually Indica dominant, in the sense that it has a 50/30/20 Indica/Sativa/Ruderalis genetic split. That means the head buzz is much more about positivity, motivation and inspiration than masses of energy and euphoria. It does, however, do a capable job of pulling people out of negative emotional states and provides fast, effective relief from physical pain. After the head high has mellowed, you’ll move into a smooth, relaxing body stone. So we’d suggest keeping this strain for use at night.

Royal Gorilla Auto has a total grow time of about 8 to 10 weeks of which flowering takes up about 5 to 7 weeks. This is regardless of whether you grow indoors or outdoors. At this sort of speed, you’d expect plants to be on the smaller side and you’d be right. Indoors, this strain has a growing range of about 0.6M to 1.2M . Even outdoors it will rarely grow any taller than 1.4M. Even with its compact size, it can deliver yields of up to 400g/m2 indoors and 170g/per plant outdoors.

This strain isn’t just easy to grow, it’s also very versatile. The fact that it naturally stays small makes it ideal for people with restricted indoor growing spaces. The fact that it will flower at any time of year means that outdoor growers to the south of Europe could feasibly collect multiple harvests. Whereas outdoor growers towards the north of Europe should manage at least one. Although Royal Gorilla Auto is an excellent choice as a beginner’s first grow, it has plenty to offer the more experienced too. For example, if you are comfortable implementing a sea-of-green set-up, then you can really maximize your harvest with very little effort. As the combination of robust genetics and quick growth means that this strain is very undemanding and in particular, it has superb resilience to mould, diseases and pests.

In terms of flavour and aroma, Royal Gorilla Auto has a base of diesel and kush with a fruity body and top notes of pine and citrus.
