The origins of Cinderella 99’s name are a mystery, but we do know that those legendary growers, Brothers Grimm, developed the strain before dropping out of view a few years back. Maybe they just loved fairytales. This Sativa strain is a cross between Jack Herer and Shiva Skunk, and was included in the High Times ‘Top 10 Strains of 2009’ list.
Smoke the Cinderella 99 strain and you’ll experience an initial heavy mental rush followed by a euphoric burst of energy, typical of Sativa-type strains. It has tones of citrus and pineapple, with a clean, pine aftertaste. Medically, it’s used to combat stress and poor appetite.
The plant grows relatively low and bushy for a Sativa-dominant strain, reaching about 1.5 meters in height. Strong side stems have thick clumps of light green leaves, and the buds are covered in reddish, orange hairs and glittering crystals. THC content is between 12 and 15 percent.
The bushiness of Cinderella 99 makes it a good bet for growing with the SOG method. You can expect yields of around 300 grams per square metre, not the highest, but it’s quality weed. Flowering time is seven to eight weeks.
Cinderella 99 seeds will grow well outdoors in a sheltered spot with plenty of sunshine and you can expect to harvest around one kilo per plant in early October.
If you’re looking for a distinctively fruity flavor and an energetic high that won’t leave you curled up on the sofa, choose Cinderella 99. It does best indoors in a controlled environment but growers will find yields more than acceptable outdoors as well.
