Amnesia Haze
Review
A Sativa hybrid, Amnesia Haze’s reputation as a powerfully potent weed was confirmed when it took first place in the overall section of the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2004. Amnesia Haze is one of the many successful skunk-type hybrids originally developed in the Netherlands.
The Amnesia Haze strain has a high that creeps up on you, and leaves you feeling energised rather than sedated. It’s a powerful hit, and yes it can lead to short term memory loss. If you’ve got something important you need to do, note it down before you toke! The weed has a distinctly floral smell and the taste is best described as musky with fruity tones reminiscent of peach and orange. This Haze is good for stress relief and appetite stimulation.
The plant’s Sativa antecedents mean it can grow very tall, as high as 20 feet when left to its own devices outdoors. It has rather thin, pale green leaves and produces a good amount of light green, dense buds packed with crystals. Expect to achieve THC levels of around 20 percent.
If you grow Amnesia Haze seeds indoors, you will need to trim it to keep it in bounds. Skilled growers can achieve yields as high as 600 grams per square metre. It’s worth noting that flowering time is long at up to 13 weeks, so this may not be the best choice for a beginner.
Outdoors, the plant will do well in a warm temperate or Mediterranean climate – it’s probably not the best choice if you live far to the north. Its height means that each plant can yield large amounts, up to 1,500 grams, but you may need to provide support to avoid plants keeling over.
If you’re looking for a plant that dependably offers a powerful hit that leaves you feeling buzzy rather than smashed, Amnesia Haze is a good choice. Its long flowering period means you need to have patience when growing this one, although you’ll eventually be rewarded by high yields.
