Malawi Gold
Review
Malawi Gold is a pure Sativa strain that comes from the Salima region of the East African country, Malawi, a small landlocked nation bordering Lake Nyasa. Malawi’s prime weed is known in the country as Nkhota Kota, after the particular district it’s grown in. In Malawi, the weed is cured by wrapping it tightly in banana leaves. You may find this hard to replicate at home, but however you cure it, you’re guaranteed some excellent weed.
Malawi Gold weed has a fresh, tropical forest smell and the flavor combines a fruity sweetness with a slight bitterness that is not unpleasing. You may also detect notes of pineapple, lemon and almonds. The soaring high comes on quickly and produces an elevated mood and often laughter, making it a great weed to share with friends. Medically this weed can help with stress and poor appetite.
As you’d expect of a pure Sativa, this plant grows very tall and has lots of branches. The buds can grow as long as 60 centimetres and their weight can bend down the branches. Buds are dense and sticky with resin, and the leaves grow a dark green. THC levels are in the 14 to 18 percent range.
Because of its Equatorial origins, you’ll struggle to grow Malawi Gold seeds outdoors unless you live somewhere with a tropical climate. Indoors, it needs to be kept at about 25 degrees centigrade during the day and 15 during the night. The plants like high humidity, but you’ll need to keep an eye out for signs of mold or mildew. Flowering time can be as long as 14 weeks and yields can reach 750 grams per square metre.
To conclude this Malawi Gold review, although it’s not the easiest of strains to grow, Sativa fans should definitely give this weed a try. It has a clear, euphoric high, and for patient growers, the yield of Malawi Gold can be very good.
