God Bud

God Bud was developed in Canada and brought to market by the BC Bud Company in 2004. An Indica dominant strain, the genetics are a blend of God, Hawaiian and Purple Indica. God Bud won the Indica section of the 2004 High Times Cannabis Cup, and was also named amongst the magazine’s ‘Top 10 Canadian Strains of All Time’ in 2010.

When you smoke it, you’ll taste and smell floral, pine and fruit tones with a musky aftertaste. The long-lasting high comes on somewhat slowly and develops into an intense, almost psychedelic buzz that’s paradoxically calm and relaxing. This weed was first distributed through the Canadian medical cannabis community and is good for alleviating symptoms such as stress, muscular pain and nausea.

The God Bud strain grows short and bushy, topping out at a height of around one metre indoors. Its buds grow on quite short branches and they are covered in a silvery layer of crystals. The plants start out dark green and tend towards purple as they mature. God Bud has a well-earned reputation amongst experienced growers for its high THC content.

Its growing habits make it well suited it to SOG growing. Whether you’re using a soil or hydro set-up, it thrives best with the addition of extra nutrients, and it has a flowering period of eight to 10 weeks. Grown with care, each indoor plant will yield 80 to 110 grams of premium buds.

Unless you live somewhere with a hot climate, it’s best to grow it indoors. If you are lucky enough to have a Mediterranean or sub-tropical climate where you live, outdoor cultivation is definitely possible.
