CBD Caramel – Barney’s Farm
CBD Caramel is a cross between Brazilian, Himalaya, Afghan and CBD Enriched. As you would expect from parentage like that, this strain is very much Indica dominant (70%). As the name suggests, it’s all about the CBD and the taste!
CBD Caramel has a 1:1 ratio with about 10% to 15% THC and the same for CBD. Even at the 15% level, it is certainly enough to produce a noticeable upbeat lift out of low moods. It’s also worth noting, that this strain is very much Indica dominant. This means that the effects on the mind, while very positive are also very mellow. Nothing like the energy-rush you’d expect from a Sativa. Ten percent THC is also enough for a certain degree of fast-acting pain relief. The main reason for buying CBD Caramel is, however, the CBD content. 10% CBD is enough to be very beneficial to certain medical conditions. Obviously, with a stone this deep you’ll want to keep CBD Caramel for night-time use if at all possible. Or if you’re staying indoors.
Indoors, CBD Caramel has a flowering time of about 8 to 9 weeks and outdoors it will be ready in the latter half of September. Indoor growers can expect to harvest up to 800g/m2 and outdoor growers up to 450g per plant. This is particularly impressive given that this strain has a growing range of about 80cm to 1M. The upper end of the indoor growing range is based on what can be done using advanced growing techniques to maximize yield. We’d suspect that indoor growers with less experience should anticipate harvests in the region of 500g/m2. This is still a very reasonable result, particularly given that CBD Caramel is nicely straightforward to grow.
CBD Caramel typically gets off to a quick start, meaning there is a very short vegetative stage. It stays compact but perhaps a bit less bushy than you might expect from a strain with strong indica genetics. It is also equally happy indoors and outdoors and can tolerate a bit of humidity. The landrace genetics in this strain’s immediate background help make it a very robust strain. We’d be inclined to point total beginners towards autoflowering strains, but if you’re happy to tackle a photoperiod strain then you should be absolutely fine with CBD Caramel.
One slightly odd feature of CBD Caramel is that in spite of the name, we wouldn’t describe it as tasting particularly like caramel. It’s certainly swee,t but it’s a floral sweetness is balanced by spices rather than candy sweetness. The aroma has more than a hint of skunk along with the same warm, sweet spiciness.
