Cherry Sherbet
A 70% Indica cross of Cherry Pie and Sour Sherbet, Cherry Sherbet is less sweet than you might expect from the name. It is, however, very definitely packed with cherry flavour and provides decent yields for moderate effort.
Cherry Sherbet has about 20% average THC and moderate CBD. As is typical of Indicas (and Indica dominants), the initial cerebral high is more about blissful, inspirational joy than about a burst of energy and other-worldly euphoria. As it ebbs, you’ll then transition into what is essentially an old-school Indica, full-body stone. Although the 30% Sativa genetics do lighten it up a bit. The sensation is warm, comfortable and utterly relaxing, soothing away spasms, joint pains and mental tension. In our opinion, Cherry Sherbet is ideal for night-time use. In fact, you might even want to use it as a treatment for insomnia. We wouldn’t rule out using it in the during the day, but you’d have to be very careful to refocus completely before doing anything complex, such as driving.
The predominance of Indica genetics means that Cherry Sherbet tends to stay fairly compact, with an average growing range of about 1.5M (indoor minimum) to 2M (outdoor maximum). Indoors it will need about 8 to 9 weeks of flowering time and yield about 450g/m2. Outdoors it will be ready around the middle of October and yield about 450g per plant.
We’ve classed this strain as being moderately difficult to grow because the mid-October harvest means that most people will probably be growing it indoors. You’ll also need to be confident with your general marijuana basics such as food, water, general trimming and odour control, as Cherry Sherbet isn’t really very forgiving of beginner mistakes,. On the plus side, it certainly isn’t a high-maintenance strain either and it does have good resilience to mould, diseases and pests.
When you come to taste Cherry Sherbet, you may initially find yourself wondering how it came by its name as this strain’s top notes are of herbs and flowers without so much as a hint of fruit. Give it a little bit of time, however, and you’ll pick up on the sour cherry tastes. Interestingly, although the aroma of Cherry Sherbet is sour to the point of being quite acidic, the smoke itself is actually very smooth, it’s a bit like breathing in the scent of a rich, creamy, buttery cherry sauce.
