Also more politely known as Alaskan Tundra, the Alaskan Thunder Fuck strain is an Indica and Sativa hybrid with an Indica dominance. Its origins lie in the Matanuska Valley which is north of Anchorage in Alaska, and sometimes Matanuska is substituted for Alaska in the name. It was first created in the 1970s by crossing Afghani weed with a Northern Californian Sativa. This strain took first place in the CBD section of the 2011 High Times Medical Cannabis Cup in San Francisco.
The weed burns with a musty smell reminiscent of ripe red grapes and the flavour is distinctly floral with a chocolate after taste. This weed produces a rapid-acting heavy Indica stone which lingers, finally leaving the smoker in a drowsy state. Medically, it’s recommended for mild pain relief and insomnia, and for stimulating poor appetite.
Alaskan Thunder Fuck seeds produce bushy plants of short to medium height. The leaves are large and pale green while the dense buds are spear-shaped, light green and covered in orange hairs and sticky white crystals. THC content has been measured at between 12 and 15 percent.
The Alaskan Thunder Fuck seeds grow well indoors with a hydro set-up. Its origins in Alaska mean that it’s good to grow outdoors in cooler northern countries like the Netherlands and the UK. Flowering time is nine to 12 weeks and outdoor harvest comes in October. Indoors, yields are around 350 grams per square metre.
The Alaskan Thunder Fuck strain produces a heavy head buzz which will keep you stoned for two to three hours. The plants are on the small side so it’s a good choice if you have limited growing space.
