Big Blue

Big Blue weed is an Indica dominant hybrid that was created by crossing two highly regarded strains, Northern Lights #5 and Blueberry. Northern Lights has taken prizes three times in the High Times Cannabis Cup and Blueberry has formed the basis for many potent and popular strains.

Any Big Blue review should wax lyrical about the subtle floral and berry tastes of the smoke, which is smooth to a fault and reminiscent of good-quality black hash without the slight acridity that hash sometimes displays. The smell is characterised by notes of skunk and ripe grapes. Expect an intense body stone lasting at least 90 minutes and a lazy, gradual comedown. Inexperienced smokers may well experience couchlock, making this weed best reserved for evening use. Medical practitioners recommend Big Blue weed for poor appetite and sleeplessness.

Big Blue seeds produce small plants, seldom taller than one metre. The plants are quite bushy with mid green foliage and dense buds of medium size with a purplish hue. THC content ranges from 18 to a whopping 24 percent.

This strain does best indoors and responds well to the SOG growing method, cultivated in either soil or hydro. In a SOG set-up, you should harvest about 350 grams per square metre while plants grown individually will yield from 70 to 85 grams each. Flowering time is short at seven weeks and harvest comes in September with a spring planting.

If you’re planning to grow indoors, then Big Blue weed is definitely a good choice. Although it’s not the most prolific of yielders, it more than makes up for that by the quality of the crop, which has consistently high THC levels.
