Brains Damage

The Brains Damage strain is a Sativa dominant weed that combines Sativa and Indica genetics from Mango and KC-36 plus strains from Acapulco and Hawaii. It was developed by growers in the Netherlands and it remains a favourite in the coffee shops of Amsterdam. Respected grower KC Brains developed this strain with outdoor growing in cooler climates in mind, although indoor growing is also perfectly possible.

Light up Brains Damage and you’ll smell freshly picked fruit and fragrant blossoms, while you’ll taste hash and notes of muskiness. The effects kick in after a slight delay and the Sativa hit is lucid and cerebral. This is a good daytime smoke since it energises rather than sedates and has no energy-sapping come down. Medical practitioners recommend this weed for mild muscular pain and poor appetite.

The Brains Damage strain produces plants around 90 centimetres tall indoors and up to two metres in height outdoors when allowed to flourish unchecked. Leaves are glossy and light green with long fingers and the buds are spear shaped and covered in a shiny coating of silver crystals when mature. THC content ranges from 15 to 20 percent.

As mentioned before, this strain will thrive in cooler climates when grown outdoors. Choose a sheltered spot and enrich the soil where you plan to plant. Start seedlings indoors and plant out after the last frost. Indoors, Brains Damage seeds can be cultivated in soil or hydro. Flowering time is eight to 10 weeks. It’s best to allow the flowering to go to 10 weeks as this increases bud development. Indoor yields are around 140 grams per plant while outdoor growing can produce as much as 900 grams per plant at harvest time in late September. It is happiest at temperatures of between 21 and 26C.

If you’re a novice horticulturist, Brains Damage seeds are a good choice as they require only basic care and nutrition. All growers appreciate this strain’s potency, and gardeners in cooler countries particularly appreciate the high outdoor yields.
