Diablo OG

Californian growers crossed OG Kush with a South African Sativa to create Indica dominant Diablo OG strain, sometimes called Diablo OG Kush. OG Kush took third place in the Indica section of the 2012 Cannabis Cup, while South African Sativa is thought to be a parent of the legendary strain Durban Poison.

The Diablo OG Strain has an aroma that combines pine, lemon and exotic spices, and the flavor is sweet citrus with a peppery aftertaste and notes of skunk. The high is cerebral and energising while still lazy without the couchlock that some Indica dominant strains have. Medically, this weed can be used to treat poor appetite and stress.

Diablo OG seeds produce medium-sized plants that grow to a height of around 100 to 120 centimetres. Leaves are mid-green while the buds are a lighter green and dense with a coating of red to orange hairs and sticky white crystals. THC content is around 15 percent.

For those that live in cooler northern regions, Diablo OG seeds are best grown indoors, although outdoor growing is perfectly possible in countries where the climate is at least as warm as the Mediterranean. Indoors, the plants do well in soil or hydro. They have a tendency to stretch so they may well need support with garden canes. Flowering time is seven to eight weeks and outdoor harvest comes in late September. Yields are around 300 grams per square metre indoors.

The Diablo OG strain is well-balanced Indica and Sativa hybrid offering the best of both worlds; a stimulating mental high combined with a relaxing but not disabling body stone. It requires intermediate gardening skills, so it’s probably not the best choice for a first-time grower.
