The Spanish growers behind Dr Jekyll cannabis crossed a Diesel from New York with Afrodita #1 to produce a Sativa dominant strain. Perhaps the Spanish speakers misspelled ‘Jekyll’, or perhaps they were making a wordplay on the name, but many people have seen fit to correct Jekill to Jekyll. However, the original Spanish growers spell it Dr Jekill.
Dr Jekyll has an aroma of pine and sandalwood. The taste will remind you of fresh fruit with a slightly sour, but not unpleasant, aftertaste. When you smoke this weed you’ll experience a bright, mentally stimulating high which makes this a good daytime smoke. Medically, this weed can help with stress and poor appetite. THC level is 18 percent.
Dr Jekyll seeds produce plants that grow to a height of 120 to 140 centimetres tall indoors, although outdoors the plants may stretch as high as two metres. Despite the Sativa genetics, the plants are bushy rather than sprawling. The buds are dense and display a coating of glittering crystals.
Dr Jekyll weed does well indoors with the SOG growing method, grown in a soil medium. The plants like plenty of space to allow their roots to stretch and they appreciate quite heavy feeding. Flowering time is eight to nine weeks and with the right care you can expect to harvest around 500 grams per square metre.
To thrive outdoors, this plant needs the sort of Mediterranean climate that they enjoy in southern Spain. Harvest in the northern hemisphere comes in early October with each plant producing in the region of 450 grams.
This weed won’t turn you into Mr Hyde, but it will give you a soaring, euphoric high. Dr Jekyll cannabis not the easiest strain to grow but with patience and attention it will produce good crops of potent weed.
