Skunk strains have traditionally been marijuana’s answer to Marmite, you either love them or loathe them.  Sensi Skunk, however may please established skunk lovers while tempting in people who would generally have avoided it.

The classic popularity of Skunk #1 has lead to it being used to create numerous hybrids, which bring various new takes on the classic flavour.  European skunk strains are often fruitier and sweeter than their transatlantic counterparts and Sensi Skunk takes this to a whole new level with sweet and citrus top notes which really lighten the traditional skunk body.  If you really hate skunk then you’re unlikely to be won over, but if you’ve been sitting on the fence, then Sensi Skunk could be the strain to convince you.  If you’re unsure whether to take the plunge, try having a good sniff of some nugs or some smoke so you can enjoy the citrus-and-fruit bouquet, which is a good reflection of the flavour.

From a medical perspective, this is very much a classic skunk.  For all its Indica genetics, it has lots of THC and low CBD.  This means that the initial effect is one of blessed pain relief and a clear, but relaxed, head high.  Interestingly however, in spite of the low CBD level, this is followed by a classic Indica full-body stone, which comes up on the user very slowly and comfortably.  As a result, in spite of the THC level, we’d say this was really a night-time strain and a great choice for insomnia as well as the likes of ADD/ADHD, depression and headaches.

We’ve put Sensi Skunk down as being moderately difficult to grow although just how difficult or easy it is to grow depends on which version you buy.  Basically Sensi Skunk is available in regular, feminized and autoflowering version.  Obviously if you buy the regular version, you need to sex the plants yourself.  If you buy the feminized version, you are guaranteed that the plants will be female, but you still need to manage the light cycles.  If you buy the autoflowering version, then you are saved both the need to sex plants and the need to manage light cycles, you just need to manage your growing basics of water, feeding and ventilation.  The really good news for novice growers is that Sensi Skunk is one of the most forgiving strains of marijuana there is to the point where you are pretty much guaranteed some sort of harvest as long as you put in even a moderate degree of care.  Whatever version of Sensi Skunk you choose there are three key points to remember.  The first is ventilation, this is a very robust strain, but even the most robust strain can be ravaged by mould in humid conditions.  The second is odour control (this is still a skunk strain) and the third is that even though Sensi Skunk is reasonably compact it does tend to shoot up quickly, so you may want to think about trying your hand at plant training.
