Silver Haze

No Silver Haze review would be complete without mentioning that it is a precursor of the Super Silver Haze strain, the latter having distinguished itself as a multiple winner in the High Times Cannabis Cup. Another product of the Dutch cannabis growing scene, Silver Haze is a cross between the Northern Lights and the Haze strains which means that it is a Sativa and Indica hybrid. The name comes from the fact that the buds are covered in a coating of shiny silver crystals.

Silver Haze weed’s aroma has notes of pine and mint and the flavour is fruity with a slightly bitter undertone. The high is a good balance of Sativa and Indica effects so you’ll experience a stimulating cerebral hit combined with a physically sedative effect. Medical practitioners recommend it for stress, muscular pain and poor appetite.

The plants grow to a medium height with mid-green leaves and the buds become denser as they mature and glisten with silver crystals. THC content is around 15 percent.

Indoors, it likes a good circulation of air and consistent levels of humidity, thriving in both hydro and soil growing mediums. Flowering time is eight to 10 weeks and with careful growing, you can expect to harvest about 400 grams per square metre.

Outdoor growing is possible in northern Europe as long as you avoid the risk of frost and plant out your seedlings in a sheltered spot that gets a decent amount of sunlight. Harvest comes in mid- to late-October.

Silver Haze has a good balance between the qualities of Sativa and Indica. It’s a vigorous grower and it produces weed with a strong, balanced high.
