Urban Poison Review

Urban Poison is a Sativa dominant strain created by crossing the legendary Durban Poison from South Africa with one of the earliest of the modern skunk type strains, Northern Lights. In the first years of the High Times Cannabis Cup, from 1989 to 1996, Northern Lights took no less than six prizes, including first overall in 1993.

When you smell Urban Poison weed, you’ll think of a walk through a pine forest while the flavor includes notes of cedarwood, herbs and juniper berries. Smoking Urban Poison will quickly sharpen your mind and put you in the mood for partying or physical activity: a walk in the park, a kick-about a la Bob Marley or a dip in a cool lake. Medically, this weed alleviates stress and stimulates appetite.

Generally, it will produce tall, gangling plants that can shoot up to three metres when grown untrimmed outdoors. The leaves are a bright, jungle green with spindly fingers and the elongated buds are fluffy on the outside with a tight core. THC levels can vary from 15 to a massive 24 percent depending on the growing conditions.

Indoors, it performs best in a soil growing medium and their height makes them ideal for training with the SCROG method. The plants do need trimming to keep them in bounds. Flowering time is 10 to 11 weeks and yields are in the 400 to 500 grams per square metre range.

Outdoors, this plant requires a long hot growing season so it needs to be cultivated somewhere at least as warm as the Mediterranean.

This Urban Poison review recommends this weed for its lively, energetic taste of Africa combined with the best of the modern skunk hybrids. It’s a highly potent weed and novice smokers should approach it with caution.
