Sour Kush
Review
Sour Kush is an Indica strain created in California by crossbreeding OG Kush and Sour Diesel. OG Kush, with its origins in the Himalayan region of Hindu Kush, has formed the basis for many outstanding cannabis strains. Sour Diesel has been a favourite amongst smokers for many years.
When you light up, you’ll notice a slightly weird smell reminiscent of diesel fuel that comes from the Sour Diesel parent, but you’ll also note fresh earth and pine. The flavor continues the slightly sourish note with undertones of blossoms and Eastern spices. The high is potent and will give you a physically sedated feeling as well as soaring cerebral effects. This is a smoke best reserved for evening use. Medical practitioners recommend the Sour Kush strain for insomnia and poor appetite.
Sour Kush plants grow to a short to medium height and are quite bushy. Leaves are bright green and the buds are roundish and dense with orange hairs. THC content has been measured in the lab at up to 22 percent in the lab.
This strain’s Himalayan genetics mean that you can plans a Sour Kush grow outdoors in northern European countries – just be sure to avoid late frosts. Indoors, it favours a SOG set-up although it’s equally happy in soil and hydro. Flowering time is eight to nine weeks and outdoor harvest comes in the first half of October. Yields are in the medium range.
If you like that slightly strange fuel taste that some weeds have, you’re going to enjoy Sour Kush. It’s quite easy to grow, and it produces crops of above-average potency.
