Blue Pearl
Review
Blue Pearl weed combines two well-known strains, Silver Pearl and Blue Haze. Silver Pearl has a long heritage in the modern cannabis world, taking second prize overall in the High Times Cannabis Cup back in 1993, while Blue Haze took first place in the Sativa section of the 2001 Cannabis Cup.
The Blue Pearl strain has a fresh bouquet with citrus undertones, and the flavour adds notes of exotic spices and lemon. This weed is a creeper and can take up to 30 minutes after smoking for the full effects to surface. Once they do, this Sativa-dominant strain has a powerfully cerebral hit, likely to leave you with a broad smile. Effects last up to two hours and can be help spark creativity. Medically, Blue Pearl can be used to improve poor appetite.
Blue Pearl seeds produce tall plants, which stretch to up to two metres, and the leaves are mid to dark green and elongated. Orange-haired buds tend to form in clusters, creating heavy colas which may need support. The THC content ranges from strong, about 15%, to exceptionally strong, up to 24%.
Unlike many Sativas, you can grow Blue Pearl outdoors in cooler climates. Just make sure to give the plants a sheltered spot that gets plenty of sunshine and harvest will come in mid-October. Indoors, it’s recommended you grow Blue Pearl weed using the SOG method, although you’ll have to be fairly forceful with your training and pruning. Flowering time is eight to 10 weeks and yields should be around 350 grams per square metre.
Blue Pearl weed is definitely a strain for aficionados of Sativa and the strong mental stimulus that the high brings. It’s also worth noting that it is one of the Sativas that can do well outdoors even in cooler climates.
