Cherry Kush – MSNL
Kush and Haze are possibly the two most celebrated marijuana families in the world. It was a stroke of genius to cross old-school OG Kush, with new-school Cherry Haze and create a strain which blends an unusual fruity flavour, with that classic Kush taste.
One of the reasons for choosing OG Kush out of all the Kush strains was its relatively high THC for an Indica. OG Kush has 19% to 22% THC, while Cherry Haze on its own has about 16% to 19% THC. Their progeny, Cherry Kush has 23% THC. This is enough to provide fast-acting and effective pain relief for many conditions. Also alleviating many negative emotional states. On that note, it’s worth remembering that the 75% Indica genetics help to create a mellow, chilled high. While the 25% Sativa genetics lighten it up and give it a bit more energy than you’d expect from a pure Indica. Your head buzz will ebb gently into the comforting relaxation of an Indica body stone. Overall, Cherry Kush is still really best suited to night-time use. It could probably be used occasionally in the day time, as long as you leave yourself plenty of time to recover.
Cherry Kush has an indoor flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks and an outdoor harvest period of early October. Indoor growers can collect up to 600g/m2 in a sea-of-green or screen-of-green set-up. Otherwise up to 400g/m2 would be a reasonable expectation. Outdoor growers could harvest up to 500g per plant. Cherry Kush has a growing range of about 1M (indoor minimum) to 1.8M (outdoor maximum).
Although this strain can grow a bit taller than you might expect from a modern Indica, it still grows in the classic Indica shape. Namely compact and bushy rather than branchy. Outdoors, this will give it a bit of protection against the elements, but shelter from harsh weather is still advised. Fans of coloured marijuana will be pleased to hear that the buds on the large central cola tend to develop patches of bright pink. Later in flowering, the buds will develop both a gleaming coat of resin crystals and a distinct scent.
Out of all the benefits this strain offers, possibly its biggest attraction is its taste. It’s very hard to find good cherry strains and so the fact that Cherry Kush has a clear taste of both sweet and sour cherries is enough to make people sit up and take notice. The kush flavours come as base notes. The smoke is light and its aroma reflects the taste.
