B-52

B-52 weed is a hybrid of Big Bud and a special Skunk. Although it’s Indica dominant it also contains a good amount of Sativa genetics. Whether the original growers were thinking about the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress long-range strategic bomber or the popular rock and roll combo, the B-52s, remains a mystery.

The B-52 strain has a skunky aroma while the flavor is sweetish with notes of exotic spice. Smoke it and you’ll experience a mellow high that’s stronger on stimulating rather than sedative effects although you will notice a marked body stone as well. Medical practitioners recommend this weed for stress, poor appetite and muscular pain.

B-52 seeds produce compact plants of medium height with mid-green leaves and robust branches bearing a profusion of large heavy buds, much like its Big Bud parent. THC levels range from eight to 15 percent.

Indoors, you’ll get the best results from the B-52 strain if you grow it in a hydro set up using the SOG growing method. Plant about 16 plants per square metre and trim out excess foliage to allow the plants to concentrate on producing buds. Flowering time is from eight to 10 weeks and yields are between 500 and 600 grams per square metre.

You can grow B-52 if you live somewhere with a warm sunny climate akin to the Mediterranean. Harvest in the northern hemisphere comes in late October.

B-52 weed is a prolific yielder which means that it’s popular with commercial growers as well as domestic gardeners. Its subtle Sativa flavor and its energetic, joyful high make it a firm favourite with seasoned and novice smokers.
