Misty

One of the original strains, Misty weed has one of the finest genetic heritages around and is the result of crossing White Widow and Northern lights with the Shiva weed strain. However, it is more stable, faster finishing and yields more than its well reputed parents.

The Misty strain aroma is not one of its highlights and is often said to resemble the smell of sweat. However, its sweet taste and pleasant sugary aftertaste more than make up for it. Despite its indica leaning origins, the buzz is uplifting and sociable, lasting a couple hours and giving it its good reputation in Amsterdam. Medically, this strain is suitable for alleviating stress, anxiety, and depression.

Misty cannabis plants stay short and stocky with thick, bubble like lime green leaves with a large bud to leaf ratio. The buds are large and tight, and completely covered in a thick layer of crystal white trichomes. Its enticing thick resin coverage gives it a misty appearance, which is almost certainly where the name comes from. THC levels have been measured between 15 and 20%.

Indoors, it’s recommended that you grow Misty weed using a SOG method, as its diminutive size suits it perfectly. It will thrive in either a soil medium or hydroponics set up, yielding an excellent 500 grams per square meter in between 8 to 10 weeks. The best results come from growing indoors, its strong fragrance when flowering may not be suit grower for whom stealth is a big consideration.

Outdoors, the Misty strain needs a dry and warm environment, somewhere akin to the Mediterranean, so probably isn’t a weed strain for those who live in cooler climates. If you can provide it with the correct growing environment, expect harvests to come towards the end of September or beginning of October.

The Misty weed strain is a favourite in Amsterdam coffee shops due to its sweet taste and potent, long lasting high. Its diminutive size and fast finishing times make this an ideal strain for growers who have limited space and want big yields, fast. This may be an oldy, but it is definitely a goody.
