Somango
Review
Previously called Soma #5, Somango had its name changed to reflect its tropical fruit flavour. It’s an Indica dominant type created by the Soma outfit, renowned for their organic growing methods, and it combines the Jack Herer and Big Skunk Korean strains.
Somango weed has a fragrant aroma that will remind you of spring blossoms while the taste displays notes of tropical fruit, specifically mango, alongside exotic spices. The high is uplifting and active; this is not one of those weeds that leave you locked to the couch. Medically, it is recommended for stress and poor appetite.
Somango seeds produce quite tall plants with multiple side stems that sprout outwards. The long-fingered leaves are a fresh green colour and the dense buds are covered in sticky white crystals. As the plant nears full development, the leaves take on a purplish hue. THC content has been measured at between 20.2 and a whopping 23.3 percent.
Indoors, Somango seeds thrive in any medium but reaches its fullest possible potential in an organic soil medium. It benefits from feeding with nutrients, and again organic is best. Flowering lasts from eight to nine weeks and you can expect to harvest around 200 to 300 grams per square metre from this moderate yielder.
You can grow this strain outdoors if you live somewhere with warm sunny summers, but you’ll struggle in more northerly temperate regions. As the plants near the end of their growing phase, they may need support.
There are many strains that are heavier yielders than Somango weed but if you want a connoisseur’s weed with a delicious, fresh flavour and an energetic high, this could be the strain for you.
