Wedding Cake Strain – MSNL
The Wedding Cake strain is a genetic cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie. It tastes as good as the name suggests and also has compelling medical benefits.
Although this strain is an Indica dominant (60%) it has a very generous 22% to 25% THC. This offers plenty of fast and effective pain-relief along with a pleasant head buzz. The Indica genetics keep it all mellow, so the effect is a feeling of supreme happiness rather than a rush of creative energy. As time passes, the head buzz turns into a relatively light but comfortable body stone, from which it is very easy to drop off to sleep.
The CBD content is unlikely to pin you to your couch. It will just make you far too relaxed and cosy to want to get up. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to be prepared for the marijuana munchies.
The Wedding Cake strain is probably best suited to use at night, however it would probably be fine to use it during the daytime. The key point, as always, is to allow yourself plenty of time to recover from the stone. In particular, make sure that you have your full concentration back before getting behind the wheel of a car.
This strain will grow happily indoors or outdoors. Indoors it needs 8 to 10 weeks of flowering time and outdoors it will be ready to harvest in late September or early October. As with most varieties of marijuana, Wedding Cake is only really happy in a warm, dry, sunny climate so outside of the Mediterranean basin, you will need to choose an outdoor growing site with great care or split the difference and use a greenhouse.
Indoor growers will be particularly glad to hear that the Wedding Cake strain is a nicely compact strain, with a growing range of about 0.8M (indoor minimum) to 1.5M (outdoor maximum). It does, however, grow very much in the style of an Indica, meaning you will need to allow plenty of space for your plants to spread their branches outwards.
Yields are very decent, especially given the size of the plant and even an inexperienced grower could expect to collect up to 450g/m2 indoors or 450g per plant outdoors. Experience growers could push this up quite substantially, 600g/m2 is far from an unreasonable expectation.
