Where exactly the name of the Californian Kosher Kush came from is a mystery. Some sources claim it was blessed by a Rabbi, which seems on the very edge of plausibility, while others say its original name was open to misinterpretation as anti-Semitic.
What we do know is that Indica dominant Kosher Kush is derived from OG Kush and other strains that unknown. It’s certainly a connoisseur’s choice since it won the Indica section of the High Times Cannabis Cup twice in a row in 2010 and 2011.
The weed has a sweet, pungent aroma of skunk and newly turned earth and the flavor displays notes of eucalyptus, lemon and mint. The hit is quick acting and intensely physical with a strong likelihood of couchlock for all but the most seasoned of smokers. Medically, this strain can alleviate muscular pain and help with insomnia.
Kosher Kush seeds produce plants that grow to a medium height with dark green palmate leaves. The multiple buds are round and on the small side but very dense. THC content has been measured at 15.9 percent.
Indoors, Kosher Kush seeds do well in both hydro and soil and its quite bushy shape makes it eminently suitable for growing with the SOG method. It benefits from careful trimming which increases yields and it’s happiest when fed a steady diet of nutrients. Flowering time is nine to 10 weeks and yields are in the 450 to 550 grams per square metre range.
Outdoors, this plant won’t reach its full potential except in a warm sunny climate akin to the Mediterranean. Harvest time in the northern hemisphere is mid-October.
To conclude this Kosher Kush review, any weed that wins the Indica cup two years in a row is well worth considering. Yields are good, the high is powerful and anyone with a little experience of horticulture should succeed with Kosher Kush.

Where do you guys get your info from? I’ve been growing a great pheno of kosher for 4 years straight now and know a few more people that grow it too and it’s definitely not really bushy, it’s more tall and lanky and that’s even with 150-200grams from a 6′ plant in 10gal pots. Also, the thc is way higher than 16%. Mines tested from 27-29% thc but the high times cannibus cup winning kosher listed in the 14 strongest strains of 2014 was over 30%.
planted a kosher kush clone on 4-15-16. sickest little thing I ever saw, yes, I bought it. It has gotten quite tall and looks lovely. I’m in Port. Or. and wonder if she will be blooming in Oct. We have had a nice hot summer and our falls are usually warm. For some reason, I just think she’s a trooper. Can’t wait to try her. Any hints on keeping her happy and healthy?
