Sweet Valley Kush – Green House Seeds
Sweet Valley Kush by Green House Seeds is the child of two illustrious parents, Afghan Kush and Hindu Kush. Although it’s very much Indica dominant (80%), it’s actually moderately high in THC and relatively low in CBD. But it has the taste and growing style of an old-school Kush.
For all its Indica genetics, Sweet Valley Kush actually delivers an average of 22% THC. This is enough to deliver fast-acting pain relief and help you out of negative emotional states, but it’s worth remembering that fundamentally this is an Indica with a lot of THC, rather than a Sativa. Which means that instead of buzzing energy and euphoria, you can expect mellow bliss and tranquillity. As the initial head high ebbs away, it’s replaced by a full body buzz. Although, this is somewhat lighter than you might have expected from a strain with Kush in the name. Sweet Valley Kush has a relatively low 0.5% CBD, so overall, we’d say this strain was best suited to night-time use. Though t it would be feasible to use it for occasional day-time medication.
We’ve classed Sweet Valley Kush as being moderately difficult to grow purely because it’s a photoperiod strain and that means managing light cycles indoors, or timing your harvest correctly outdoors. Indoors this strain needs 8 to 9 weeks of flowering time and outdoors it will be ready around the start of October. Given that Afghan Kush has a typical height range of 0.6M to 1M and Hindu Kush has a typical height range of 0.5M to 1M, we’d expect much the same of Sweet Valley Kush. Indoor growers who use a sea-of-green set-up could collect as much as 750 g/m2. Outdoor growers in good conditions who can let their plants grow as tall as they want could collect up to 1Kg per plant. This would be impressive from much taller strains. As an added bonus, all the landrace genetics help to make Sweet Valley Kush very robust and undemanding.
In terms of taste and aroma, the initial impression is one of berry sweetness, but after a few moments, you’ll pick up on that classic, earthy Kush.
