Colossal Purps is a cross between Grandaddy Purps and Elephant Bud.  It retains much of the characteristics of Grandaddy Purps but has the yield of Elephant Bud.

Sativa dominant Colossal Purps has average THC of 21% to 22%.  This is enough to deliver meaningful pain relief for a wide variety of conditions.  It’s also enough to deliver a refreshing and energizing high.  Average CBD content is 0.2% to 0.4%.  This is enough to make you very comfortable rather than couchlocked.  You’ll still want to be prepped for the marijuana munchies.  It’d be a shame to spoil that lovely, relaxing feeling by having to get up.

As you’ve probably guessed, Colossal Purps is really one for the daytime.  In fact, it’s a great “wake-and-bake” strain.  Alternatively, you can just use it whenever you need fast-acting pain (or mood) relief.  You’d probably be fine using Colossal Purps to clear your head before bedtime.  If, however, you’re looking specifically for an “insomnia strain”, then we’d look elsewhere.

The taste of Colossal Purps is rather unusual.  There’s lots of fruit, especially berries and grapes.  That ties in with both parents.  There is also, however, a generous dash of Haze spices, which presumably comes from the Elephant Bud side.  In other words, Colossal Purps really is one to make your mouth water.

In spite of the name, we’d say Colossal Purps was actually just medium/tall.  Indoors, you’re looking at 1.9M to 2.1M.  Outdoors, however, this strain can push up to 3M.  Interestingly, Colossal Purps is only slightly Sativa dominant.  This means it grows outwards almost as much as it grows upwards.  It’s therefore really important to space your plants well apart from each other.  Indoor growers should also be prepared to do some plant training.  Both indoor and outdoor growers will also need to think about leaving space for plant supports, at least during the latter part of the flowering period.

Colossal Purps is a very branchy strain.  There are lots and lots of main colas.  In fact, towards the end of the flowering period, it can look like there’s a lot more bud than branches to hold it.  In fact, that can literally be the case, hence the need for support.  Basic yields are very generous.  Indoors, you can collect up to 750g/m2.  Outdoors you can collect at least 750g per plant.  Add in some plant training and you can collect even more.
