Juicy Fruit Strain
The result of a cross between an Afghani Indica and a Thai Sativa, the Juicy Fruit strain is as delicious as its name suggests.
Although Juicy Fruit is only just Sativa dominant (55%/45%), it can have up to 26% THC, although in reality 16% to 20% is more likely, and 0.2% CBD. Even at the upper end of this THC range, the high percentage of Indica genetics help to keep the high anchored, so that it’s joyous rather than euphoric and motivating rather than hyper-energetic. As the high ebbs, you’ll transition into a full-body stone, which is relatively light (thanks to the Sativa genetics), but still very comfortable and relaxing. This balance of genetics means that Juicy Fruit is a good choice for people who may need to medicate day or night.
Indoors, the Juicy Fruit strain needs 8 to 9 weeks of flowering time and outdoors it will be ready for harvest around the end of September to early October. As is usual with marijuana plants, it does best in warm, dry, sunny conditions and while its landrace genetics do make it very robust and give it good resistance to mould, diseases and pests, you want to avoid pushing this too far. In particular, remember the importance of leaving enough space for your plants to stretch during the flowering period and be sure to pay good attention to your general marijuana basics , namely food, water and odour control.
One of the many plus points of Juicy Fruit is that it stays a fairly reasonable height given that it is (over) half Sativa. Indoors you can expect it to reach 1.6M or thereabout and outdoors it can grow up to 2M but is unlikely to go much over that. Yields are good with indoor growers able to collect u to 550g/m2 and outdoor growers looking at up to 650g per plant. It’s also worth mentioning that Juicy Fruit is a really pretty strain with buds which can turn every possible colour, especially on the warmer side of the spectrum. In fact, the abundance of yellows, oranges and reds along with the greens puts us in mind of a well-known brand of chewy fruit sweets.
Even though you might expect a strain which is half Afghani to have a noticeable Kush flavour, in actual fact that the influence of the Thai Sativa means that both the taste and aroma of Juicy Fruit really are fruit all the way. The main note is of pineapple and there is also a generous helping of sweet berries along with citrus for balance.
