Purple Kush

Purple Kush is a hybrid of Hindu Kush and Purple Afghani strains making it a 100 percent Indica. It was created in California where it’s available only in clone form and classified as ‘Elite’.

You’ll find that this weed has a heavy high with a strong body stone and a hit lasting for two to three hours. The smoke has a somewhat fruity flavor reminiscent of grapes and an earthy, skunk-like aftertaste. It’s used medically to alleviate symptoms such as depression and chronic muscle and joint pain.

It grows as a stocky shrub to a height of around one metre with thick
bunches of large, fan-shaped leaves. When mature, the plants have tight, chunky buds with a pine aroma. The buds are purplish with orange hairs and a sticky coating of resin and the strain has a THC content of 20 percent.

For indoor growing, Purple Kush’s bush-like structure makes it ideal for the SCROG growing method with hydroponics. Flowers appear after 50 to 60 days and the yield is up to 400 grams per square metre.

Outdoor growth is possible in areas with plenty of summer sunshine. You can grow Purple Kush seeds directly in enriched soil or in containers. Harvest in the northern hemisphere comes in mid to late September and yield per plant is around 100 grams.

The Purple Kush strain is at the high end of potency with plants typically containing a THC level of around 20 percent. Well known on the west coast of America for its medicinal use, Purple Kush is a good potent weed which can be grown by any horticulturist with a basic level of skill.
