Auto Orange Bud – Dutch Passion
Auto Orange Bud by Dutch Passion is a cross between the original Orange Bud and Auto Daiquiri Lime.
Rather frustratingly, Dutch Passion has declined to publish official THC statistics for Auto Orange Bud, but the original Orange Bud had about 17% THC and Auto Daiquiri Lime had about 20% THC so based on genetics and effects from our own tests, we’d say about 18% THC is a reasonable expectation. That’s enough to provide appreciable pain relief, but Auto Orange Bud is probably more suited to deal with mental and emotional conditions, since it delivers the classic Sativa cerebral buzz which is both euphoric and energetic. This is definitely a daytime strain and one to reach for when your get up and go, has got up and gone and you need to get motivated and/or get your creative juices flowing again. As the effect of the THC ebbs, you will simply transition into a happy and active day without any drowsiness or couch lock.
The original Orange Bud was developed from Skunk strains so its taste was essentially orange citrus on top and skunk underneath. Auto Orange Bud keeps these flavours and adds notes of nectarine and tangerine along with some citrus lime. The aroma is definitely sweet and fruity rather than pungent, although you might pick up a hint of skunk if you are actively looking for it.
Auto Orange Bud will complete its entire growth cycle in just 10 to 11 weeks (that’s from planting to harvest) regardless of whether you grow indoors or outdoors, and can deliver up to 600g/m2 indoors or 600g per plant outdoors. Even though Auto Orange Bud is actually a Sativa dominant, the tall-growing Sativa genetics are tempered by the Ruderalis and so its typical height range would be in the region of 90cm (indoor minimum) to 1.1M (outdoor maximum.) This makes it a feasible choice for most indoor growing spaces (and if need be you can use plant training to keep it even shorter), but it will also be perfectly happy outdoors and is quick enough to be grown in most of Europe,. Even in places which only have short periods of warm, dry weather.
Auto Orange Bud is a great choice for beginners, not only because it’s an autoflowering strain but also because it’s nicely robust and hardy, due to the Skunk genetics in its background. It does, however, also have plenty to offer people with more experience.
